We also take part in a fur trade with the Indians. The fur trading business is very lucrative and we need hundreds of men to do the job. We send traders down to the Indian country laden with rum and trinkets and other implements prized by the natives. And in return we get furs and peltries.
We also take part in lumber trade. Our colony is blessed with luscious forests so we have plenty of lumber. We trade with the less fortunate colonies and countries as many of them are in desperate need of lumber. We make tons of profit from this trade. |
Hey merchants! Want to make some solid cash? Sail the oceans and explore the world? If so, come to New York! We're right on the coast and we trade with countries like England, Africa, and the West Indies.
In our colony, we use the resources and raw materials available to develop trade in corn and wheat and livestock including beef and pork. Our other industries include the production of iron ore, hemp, iron bars, horses, lumber, coal, textiles, furs and shipbuilding. Our colony specializes in agricultural products and their iron works and ship building industries. We send many ships to the West Indies and England with flour, corn, biscuit, timber, boards, flesh, fish, butter, and other provisions; together with some of the few fruits that grow here. Many ships go to Boston in New England, with corn and flour, and take in exchange, flesh, butter, timber, different sorts of fish, and other articles. We ship rum, iron, gunpowder, cloth, and tools to Africa. |
